The recipe for the healthier cookie of the future, made with CoasunSA and phytosterols is here!
Imagine a decadent tasting cookie with ZERO SATURATED FAT and ZERO TRANS FAT.
Yes, they will cost a little bit more, but the health of our families is worth the couple of extra pennies.
Phytosterols are obtained from the cell membranes of plants.
When consumed in high quality baked products made with CoasunSA containing phytosterols the human body cannot tell the difference between phytosterols and cholesterol.
The phytosterols compete with cholesterol for adsorption sites in the small intestine but are not actually absorbed. This means the CoasunSA made with phytosterols is calorie free!
An excellent fact sheet about phytosterols can be found at:

The recipe below uses CoasunSA made with a unique blend of phytosterol/stanol enriched oil.
Each oatmeal raisin cookie is trans fat and saturated fat free, contains fiber (from the oats and raisins) as well as 900mg of phytosterols which has been shown to lower LDL cholesterol (the bad kind) and contributes to heart health.
The FDA has approved the following claim for phytosterols: “Foods containing at least 0.4 gram per serving of plant sterols, eaten twice a day with meals for a daily total intake of at least 0.8 gram, as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease.”
